The Cleveland Indians newest member, pitcher Ubaldo Jimenez, is all set to make his pitching debut for his this coming Friday. His team is pitted against the Rangers and the match is to be played in Arlington, Texas. Hence, the hurler Ubaldo will be making his debut in the Indians colors this Friday and the Cleveland fans are eagerly waiting to watch him pitch for the team. Ubaldo’s name was spinning in trade rumors for the past few weeks and he should be elated of finding a place in the Cleveland Indians team.
Indians manager Manny Acta was quick to acknowledge the roller coaster situation that Ubaldo was in for the past 10 days and said that he was happy to see the young pitcher in Cleveland uniform. Ubaldo had joined the team at a very tender age of 16 years and this is the team that will offer him the best support in his career. Ubaldo must definitely be a much relieved man now and this will enable him to focus entirely on the tasks that are lying ahead of him and his team. Jimenez will be joining his teammates in Boston by Wednesday and he will be squaring up against the Rangers for the first time in his MLB career.
Jimenez has made a total of 118 strikeouts in the 123 innings that he has played this MLB season. This season his record so far stands at 6-9 with an ERA of 4.46. His ERA record in away matches is significantly lower when compared to home matches. The manager of Cleveland Indians is making all the necessary adjustments to include Ubaldo’s name in the 25- man roster list. Jimenez has huge expectations of performing exceptionally well for the Cleveland Indians this season. The Indians management feels that by including Ubaldo in their team roster they have significantly improved their starting rotation not only for this season but also for a further two years. The main reason for the Indians to sign Ubaldo was to improve on the pitching performance of the team and with his dominant presence in the middle, Indians are hoping for greater achievements in the games that follow. There is no doubt in the management’s mind about the capability of this young pitcher.
